I have heard that war is going on
\nSomewhere far away
\nI didn’t know war would come so soon
\nEnraged with the onset of a horrible typhoon
\nWar is now visible in the sky
\nOn land and sea
\nWar wouldn\u2019t listen to any plea.
\nWait, out there, listen to children\u2019s outcry
\nI will finish my poem later.<\/p>\n
Come, listen to my poem!
\nPeople have reported children are missing
\nThe mothers are beating breasts
\nI will recite my poem later.<\/p>\n
Now listen, there is no one left
\nThe field is empty
\nThere is one and all- only war
\nAnd the war-siren blows
\nAgain, and again.<\/p>\n

\nA guerra nenhum lamento tende a ouvir.
\nEspere e ou\u00e7a o choro das crian\u00e7as l\u00e1 fora,
\nmais tarde terminarei meu poema.<\/p>\n
